On July 22, 1995, Susan Smith was convicted of killing her two young sons after she let the car they were in roll into a lake in South Carolina.  Smith's trial revealed many shocking secrets about the young woman who first told police that her children had been taken by a carjacker.  Smith later claimed that she was suicidal the night her children died and that she had planned to kill herself too but jumped out of the car at the last minute.  Smith's sensational trial took place in the shadow of the OJ Simpson trial in 1995 but still managed to grab headlines and the public's imagination.  This episode first aired in October 2017.   All music was written and produced by Lee Revere.  Twitter: @1995_podcast
